City of Maricopa
The City of Maricopa started providing transit service to its residents in April of 2008. The transit system is intended as regional connectors to provide access for residents of Maricopa to services and employment in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Service is provided through three fixed routes to downtown Phoenix and Tempe. The Phoenix service called the Downtown Phoenix Express, is a commuter-oriented service comprising of two round trips per week day during commute hours. The Express originates at the park-and-ride in Maricopa and travels non-stop to downtown Phoenix via SR 347 and I-10. Once in Phoenix, the service stops at Central Station and the State Capital Complex, making stops roughly every 1/4 mile on Washington Street. A 57 passenger bus is used for the Express service. The Tempe service includes a fixed route commuter and a midday service. The commuter operates one round trip per weekday during commute hours that originates at the Maricopa park and ride and includes six stops that ends at the Arizona Mills Mall.
