Nogales Transit Feasibility Review and Implementation Study

The Arizona Department of Transportation, Multimodal Planning Division awarded Nelson/Nygaard Consulting Associates a contract to conduct a Transit Feasibility Review and Implementation Plan Project for the Nogales, Arizona region. The Joint Project included two partners, the City of Nogales and the Arizona Department of Transportation, Multimodal Planning Division. The City of Nogales was responsible for 20% of the total cost of the $60,000 study.  Nelson/Nygaard conducted a detailed analysis to determine the transit needs of the region.  Included in the analysis was a series of bilingual stakeholder meetings and public workshops, as well as the development of a transit operating plan and service profile. The final product included a plan for the City to begin public transit services.
