Welcome to Public Transportation in the
Multimodal Planning Division
206 South 17th Avenue
Phoenix, AZ 85007

The role of public transportation within the Multimodal Planning Division is to ensure a multi-modal approach to mobility, congestion and air quality issues throughout the State. Public transportation staff administers several Federal Transit Administration grant programs, provides technical assistance and expertise to local transit agencies and decision makers, coordinates and funds state transit and rail planning efforts, and sets and monitors light rail system safety standards. Through these efforts, we are dedicated to working with our partners to create better communities by identifying and providing options for safe and reliable public transportation.
